Welcome to Neon Ningyou!

This site is dedicated to Pullip dolls and my collection of them. There's lots of information available if you're just finding out about this line of dolls, and plenty for those who have already been converted too ;)

You can navigate the site using the menu over to the left.

Updates

Little Pullip & Little Dal
Little Pullips are back! And not just that, there's now Little Dal too!
Starting in October the Little Pullip and Dal line will be starting up with (probably) monthly releases, kicking off with 6 Alice in Wonderland themed dolls. Yes, Alice again. They've got a serious thing for Alice, but they seem to sell well so why give up on a winning formula?
In October Little Pullip Alice and Little Dal Mad Hatter will be released. Following them, Little Dal White Rabbit will be released in November and then Little Pullip Cheshire Cat, Little Pullip Queen of Hearts and Little Dal Alice (in pink this time) will be released in December. (Not entirely sure that having 2 Pullips in December and only a Dal in November isn't a mistake on pullip.net...)
They appear to have the same bodies as the old Little line did, with little articulation. They do however seem to have more detailed costumes and much softer face-ups. Whether they're soft looking when they're released is of course still to be seen; some of the old promo pictures had lovely soft face-ups but came out looking rather harsh. Whether they'll still be coming with stands or badges is unknown at the moment.

Commissions open & November releases
I'm accepting 2-3 custom commissions. I'd like to do them this month rather than at some unspecified time in the future.
Drop me a line at radiuhoh@gmail.com if you're interested and I'll give you an estimate. I'm not looking to do just body swaps or re-chipping etc. though, I'd like to do some actual painting!

EDIT: Wowee, that was quick. All 3 spots are now spoken for unless someone pulls out ^^ If these go well I might do a couple more.

The dolls for November have also been announced! They've been a highly anticipated set ever since some Rococo style customs and later prototypes were spotted doing the rounds at dolls shows.
November's Pullip is Marianne, obviously styled after Marie Antoinette. She wears bouffant blonde hair adorned with little roses and pearls. Her dress is pink broderie anglaise with masses of colourful frills and ribbons. She'd not look out of place amidst the fancier sort of cake shop really. Marianne has metallic olive eyes not unlike Blanche's, with pale blue eyeshadow and sweet pink lips. Pictured with Marianne is one of the upcoming releases from the Petite Luxury line of Pullip furniture and does not come with her.
Charlotte is November's Dal. She wears lovely rose-gold hair pinned up in a curled braid with a lacey marigold yellow hat to match her dress. Her dress is a less confectionary experience than Marianne's, but not a lot less frilly. Her sily looking gold dress is accented with turquoise ribbons and white lace. Charlotte's eyes are a matte violet, which are quite striking against her fresh, delicately made up face.
November's Taeyang is Alberic, who on reflection seems to have even more abundant lace than Marianne and Charlotte put together O_o Alberic wears a deep blue plush cloak over an incredibly lacey shirt and pantaloons covered with silver embroidery. He also wears an exceptionally manly pair of gold shoes with silver ribbons. Methinks he and another King will get on well. Alberic has metallic blue eyes with a fairly typical Taeyang face-up. His hair is not really period appropriate, but another of those often crunchy and frizzy wavy wigs. The chaise longue he is pictured with is an older release from the Petite Luxury line.

September & October releases
Ahaha. Teensy bit behind again.

Taeyang is back again for September, so there's a full compliment of three releases for this month.
Cinciallega is the Pullip release. Something about her suggests Jane Austen adaptations to me... Her feel like so line is all about her secret love, so maybe that's what they're going for? I dunno! There's quite a confusion of patterns on her dress, which makes it seem a little too much. She has a nice classic style though which we don't see so often in the Pullip line. She wears a bonnet with taffeta and lace over her silver-blonde hair.
Jade is ready for the military fashion show! He's rocking some more gorgeous purple hair and seems a little more tanned than most Taeyangs; maybe a similar skintone to Sage? We can but hope, I love that tone! Jade has obviously been to his local army surplus store; he wears a camo jumpsuit along with a kaffiyeh, harnessy thing, BDU vest and beret. He also wears a bright red vest (possibly not best for camouflage?) which we are assured is "cool!" despite the fact we can't really see it much.
The Dal for September is monochromatic Tezca. She's been spotted around some doll shows as a prototype for a while already. Tezca has a punk-goth style and wears a wonderfully bizarre hat. Skull? Demonic rabbit? Possibly both? I'm not sure. She also wears some clawed mittens, along with her layered tshirts, skirt and socks. Tezca has an interesting wig, with a crinkly texture at the back and a pointed fringe at the front.

October's Pullip is cherry red haired Kirsche! She wears a bright and colourful lolita style outfit. Her hair is a similar style to Prunella's, but styled into plaits and a bright primary red. Kirsche seems to have cat eyes, the only doll other than the limited Kirakishou to have them.
Accompanying Kirsche we have golden tanned Sol. A litte bit of a tautology there; both Taeyang and Sol mean sun! But we'll forgive, cause he's gorgeous. His skin tone looks to be similar to Nahh-atos, so he's not quite as dark as Another King. Offsetting the darkness of his skin, Sol has pale blonde almost white hair and deep blue eyes. He wears a fantasy warrior inspired outfit of imitation snakeskin and lotsa chains. Whoever designs Taeyang costumes really has a thing for chains... and light hair with deep tans.
Liopca, the companion to the previous month's Tezca, is the Dal release for October. She's a devilish little thing in a horned hood and demon wings. She's even got a pitchfork to finish off the set. Lipoca wears a black and white pair of dungarees over a black shirt, with boots. She's another for the multi-coloured hair brigade, with her black and red locks.

I'll also point out a nifty new thing on the official jun-doll website. On the new items page you can now do a 360 turn on each doll! It's great for getting a full feel for the look of the doll.
Also, since I've been inundated with spam, you'll now have to prove you're a human- or at least not a spambot- before your comment will submit.

August Releases
Getting in straight away on this one ^^; August's dolls have just been announced!
August's Pullip is a very colourful lady; Celsiy. She sports a gorgeous lavender bob with turquoise streaks. Her faceup is quite neutral in colouring and style, but features bright blue eyelids matching her streaks when you close her eyes. Her pale pink lips look to be parted, but do not show any teeth like Haute and Asuka and her eyes are sparkly brown rather like Rovam's. Celsiy's outfit is very summery and fashionably retro; She wears a bright blue cropped biker jacket over a black boob-tube and full skirt in shades of pastel orange, blue and pink with turquoise leggings. She also comes with a purple and white A-line dress, some shiny purple pointy toed high heels and big big shades in the same style as Brand New Purezza's but in green.
On the Dal side we've got Magical Pink-Chan! Dal has gone all magical girl on us for August. The name's not misplaced either, everything is pink. OK, there's a few patches of yellow and white, but seriously... so. much. pink. Pink-chan wears the lovechild of Stica and My Melody for a wig; candy pink and poofily curly, with a pink and lace hairband. She wears a very pink lacy dress with a petal like hem and really big bows and golden stars. Pink-chan also comes with a little microphone, which is apparently her magical transformation item. Y'know, like Sailor Moon had her.. thingy... compact thing, and... and.. Uh, actually that's where my knowledge of magical girls ends....
No Taeyang is scheduled for August, he's on a break, but there should be a release for September.

July Releases
Erk. Long overdue update!
July's dolls all have a traditional Japanese theme, but using modern prints to give them an updated look.
The Pullip is Youtsuzu, a pale wine-eyed beauty with black hair done up in an elaborate style with lots of pins and decorations. Anyone who takes this down with the intention of putting it back up again one day is insane. I'd also bet that the wig is cut quite strangely to get it into that style, as some previous up-do wigs have been. She wears a multilayered kimono (I think it's a Heian style kimono, but I'm far from knowledgeable about kimonos...) in various floaty patterned fabrics. She wears a tall pair of geta on her feet.
Hanaayame is the July Dal and wears a similar styled kimono to Youtsuzu. She wears her blue and black hair down, with a fabric flower clipped into her hair to match one of her kimono layers. She also wears geta. Hanaayame's eyes are a dark black-blue just like her hair, with short heavy black eyelashes and very pale makeup elsewhere.
Seiran is July's Taeyang, and he's dressed in Samurai style! With a slightly bizarre twist of zebra and floral patterned fabrics.... But he's one of the more interesting looking Taeyangs of late, so I think we can forgive that. He wears several layers of armour and tunic. He also comes with a bow and arrow. Seiran's eyes are a little like Cavalie's, a lovely purple colour paired with deep red hair down to his knees.

On a side note, the official Pullip sites have recently been made over. Pullip.net now has a lovely flash interface and a bigger interactive community area where you can post your photos and artwork based on Pullip. The Jun Planning doll catalogue that was on their main site is now a site of it's own; Jun-doll.com. Nothing like as pretty as Pullip.net, which I think is maintained by the designers (AGA) rather than producers (Jun Planning), but great if you just want to look up the dolls.
