own way. Well... no, that's not entirely true. She'd like
to be used to getting her own way. She's demanding and a bit bratty.
She's also rather desperate for a boyfriend and focuses her attentions
on any male that enters the house. Undeneath it all we're sure she's a
sweet person when you get to know her, it's just tricky to find out
since bearing her company for long is somewhat taxing.
Relationships & romance:
Ming doesn't like Ayu much. They're a LOT like sisters, right down to
stamping into eachothers rooms at the dead of night to steal back
clothes, with interest if they notice anything they like the look of.
She had an immense crush on Pip, mainly becasue he was the only boy
around for a long time. Her attentions are moving on to Aiken, since
getting Pip's attention was made even more difficult when Ekco turned
up. She's not fond of Ekco, but sometimes forgets she's meant to hate
her and accidentally gets along with her.
Family: She
has a half sister, called Corrine. She may, or may not, appear at some
point. Ming believes Corrine to be the child of the devil and so goth
she makes Noir look like a teeny bopper. She's wrong, but
that's what Ming thinks.
Origins: Ming was named after the
first Panda owned by London Zoo. It seemed appropriate, her being my
first and a Panda Pullip. |

A hot
nerd, Ekco points out, but he says that's not the point. He's got one
hell of a mind, but he tries to hide it cause it's got him into more
trouble than he'd like. He just wants to be "normal". He tends towards
the shy and serious side and often seems very cautious, but sometimes,
mostly when with Ekco, he's much more open and they often end up acting
like kids again.
Relationships & romance:
Pyrate (belonging to Tillymint) is Pip's best friend. They've known
eachother years,
since Pip was 10 and Pyrate 16. They're terribly different
personalities but they get along somehow. He's completely in love with
Ekco, again they don't always get along becasue they're very different
people, but he loves her anyway. He is very protective of her.
Family:
Pip was born in Osaka, Japan, to a Japanese mother and Australian
father. He has (had ;_;) a sister 5 years older than him, named Suiko,
and a brother 7 years younger, named Jiiro.
Origins:
Pip was originally a character I made up for a Matrix based RPG called
"Unplugged" (it's not an offical game or anything, just a forum style
RP set up by us players ^^). It's been running over three years now
and while I've now got three main characters and a small army of
background characters ready should they be needed to fill a spot, Pip's
still my favourite. |

Ayumi's past is a bit of a closed book to everyone here. She doesn't
talk about it, possibly cause it was all a bit illegal. She used to
work in the media pirating business in Japan, until a raid on their
office and some hefty charges were laid on her collegues. She skipped
the country in disguise and on a fake ID and came back to England. She
still likes to say she used to be a pirate, and when bored, makes up
outrageous stories about spectacular sea battles, sharks and rum.
Needless to say, no-one believes a word of it.
Relationships & romance:
Mings feelings on Ayu are entirely mutual. Ayu's prepared to get along
with Ming only for purposes of mischief. Together they formed the
Society for the Appreciation of the Natural Male Form and routinely hid
Pip's clothing while he was sleeping, to fullfil part of their mission
statement. Since breaking away from SANMF she enjoys Ekco's company,
being both fond of piratical themed booze ups. She's somewhat
ambivalent about Pip. it was fun pestering him before Ekco showed up,
but now she's fairly content to leave him in peace and just be friendly
to him. Now she's sort of the peace-maker... Or at least so embarassed
by some of the others in the house that she'll do anything to get them
to stop.
Family: Ayu has a foster brother,
Aiken, who
is also a foster child. Neither are related by blood to their foster
parents, but they've been together as a family so long it doesn't
matter.
Origins: Ayu was named after Ayumi
Hamasaki, as I thought there was a resemblance between the two. There
seem to be a lot of 'Ayu' Rovams so I can't be the only one! |

Ekco is complicated. She's got a lot hidden under the surface, most of
which she only shows to Pip and even then it's reluctantly. Most of the
time she's an exuberant and bubbly personality, but she's prone to
equally extreme lows. She's a bit of a manic-depressive and an ex-self
harmer, though she has improved a lot in recent times. She hates to be
alone.
Relationships & romance: She
loves Pip to
pieces. They don't always agree and sometimes the results of those
disagreements are horrible but it's hard for them to stay angry for
long. She teases him like mad, he's so easy to wind up, but she doesn't
mean any harm by it.
Family: Ekco has a younger half
sister named Amelia.
Origins:
Ekco is also a Matrix fan character from the same RPG as Pip. She's
played by someone else though, not me. In the RP, she and Pip actually
have a daughter named Kaiya, but there's no Pullip version of her cause
that just makes things mightily confusing. |

Info: Eri'ta is a very lonely
girl. She is a Lune
Angelus, the stars were her sisters and aunts and cousins, and the moon
her mother. One night when peering down at the earth she lost her
balance and came tumbling down. She landed SPLAT in our front garden
and was found by Aiken on his way to the door. He naturally assumed she
was fallout from some wild party and could probably do with a nice hot
cup of coffee and possibly a bath, so he brought her in. No-one really
believed her when she said she fell from the moon and everyone assumes
she simply bumped her head and has some form of amnesia.
Relationships & romance:
Eri is finding it very hard to form any relationships here. She just
doens't understand these creatures around her. The accusations of
insanity and/or memory loss can't help much either. So far, Ekco and
Pip have been kind to her, which she's glad for. She also quite likes
Aiken, for all that he seems to make the least sense of all her new
companions.

Aiken's a drummer, and as mad as the stereotype suggests he should be.
In the past year he has been member to many bands, all of which he had
to leave for some reason or other; Drive Elysium were a bunch of
overdramatic emo boys who he got annoyed with and told to go get proper
haircuts and stop shopping in the girls department. They sulked at him
until he gave up and left the band; Davy and the Shenannigans were a
rowdy rock band, who didn't feel a weekend bender was complete without
at least two members being arrested for drunken behaviour; Princess
were a gimicky band whose lead singer believed he was channeling Freddy
Mercury's spirit through a stick on moustache. When it slipped off
during a set and was lost, he was sent into a nervous breakdown and the
band had to split up. Currently, and hopefully for a while, he's the
drummer of Plastic Shell, which plays "a dazzling blend of electronic
beats and rock and roll attitude, topped with the shiver-inducing
vocals of a sultry supervixen". Apparently.
Relationships & romance:
Aiken is not one for stable or serious realtionships. Friends are
great, and his network of them includes some hundreds of people he's
met through his various bands and he likes his groupies of both sexes.
He thinks Eri is rather sweet and her shyness is endearing, but he
knows he's not one for reliability so he's keeping it friendly. Ming
terrifies him. When Ayu warned him about her he thought she was just
trying to stop him making off with her mates, but WHOA was he wrong. He
likes Ekco, and joins in many of her and Ayu's booze ups. He has great
respect for Pip surviving so many months being the only boy in the same
house as Ming.
Family: Ayu is his foster sister.
They get
on most of the time, though she holds a mysterious occurance known only
as "The Stockholm Incident" and it's mention to their mother as a
constant assurance of his good behaviour.
Origins: Aiken
was named after one of the main characters from Julian May's Exiles
series. I just happened to be reading it at the time and the name
seemed to fit. More than a little of that Aiken has surfaced in mine...

Shar is out for all life has to give. As the lead singer of Plastic
Shell, she's at her happiest when on stage, singing her lungs out.
She's not in it for the fame, not for the fortune, not for the rabid
screaming fans. She sings for the pure joy of singing with her band.
She's sort of the peacemaker in the band and often finds herself as the
one holding the box of tissues and offering the shoulder to drench in
tears when egos get bruised.
Relationships & romance:
Shar has this sort of on-off-more-off-than-on thing with Aiken.
Currently, it's in the off position. Usually it only lasts as long as
it takes for her to remember why it was they started wanting to kick
eachother in the head last time. She likes talking to people, so makes
friends easily. She acts a bit like a big sister to the bands youngest
member, Sushi.
Family: She has family dotted all

Susie spent a year as an exchange student in Japan. The experience
has... left an impression on her. She caught chronic Japan, and there's
no sign of a cure. It took a team of 12 immigration officers and a
crowbar to pry her from Shibuya when her visa ran out and she now
insists on pronouncing her name as "Sushi". Generally people just pat
her on the head, nod, and smile in a slightly glazed way when she gets
talking about Japan. Now she is the lead guitarist of Plastic Shell,
reasoning that getting record companies to pay her to go touring the
world is the only way she'll get to Japan again. Getting past
immigration will be the next hurdle.
Relationships & romance:
Sushi's best friend/sidekick is the newest product of bio-engineering;
a real live Pokémon. Unfortunatey the technique isn't quite down
yet,
and Squirtle suffers from some mental discrepancies, the least of which
is that he thinks he's a Bulbasaur (and also a Pikachu for a while
until he nearly electrocted himself trying to do the attack). He's also
something of a klepto and a raging alchoholic.
She looks up to
Shar tremendously, though she shows it in her own unique way. In fact
she adores all the members of Plastic Shell. She's the baby of the
bunch so they all look after her... which she quite honestly needs.
Family:
Sushi's family is bewildered by her. They brought her up to be a prim
and proper public school girl, and then made the mistake of letting her
go off on that exchange year... They're not entirely sure what to make
of her now, but they do know that blue hair will not do. |

Info: Saida lost her right eye in a fight with an abusive
customer while she was working as a bouncer at a skin palace. The eye
itself was fixable but would never be quite up to scratch again, so she
had a bionic implant put in. Interfacing her bionic eye with a
comp-patch she can connect to her ship's computer and use eye movements
to execute commands. Ultimately she's pretty glad she lost an eye; the
bionic substitute is infinitely more useful.
Relationships & romance: Saida doesn't like anyone much. Perhaps her best
friend is a guy who used to race with her and is now a botanist working
on the Venus terraforming project with her parents. She particularly
detests her ships mechanic, a guy named Grosvenor who persists in
playing very loud 1970's rock while Saida is sleeping, and not paying
enough
attention to the state of the grav' generator.
Family: Saida's parents are scientists invovled in the various
terraforming projects across the Sol system. Europa was their first big
project and now they're heading up the Venus project (Mars and Luna
having already been terraformed before they grew up, otherwise you can
bet they'd have been invovled there too.) Saida was born during their
time working on Europa and ended up a total tomboy and tearaway since
they didn't have much time to devote to her upbringing. They're vaguely
aware that she's not exactly on the right side of the law these days,
but they generally just want her to be happy and think it's probably
their fault if she's not.
Origins: Saida's from an entirely different character set to the
other dolls. The setting falls somwhere between Cowboy Bebop, Firefly,
Ghost in the Shell and the novels of Arthur C. Clarke and Issac Asimov. |
